Harmonious Wail is a trio of multi-award winning musicians. The heart of the Wail is Sims Delaney-Potthoff, a mandolin virtuoso, and vocalist, Maggie Delaney-Potthoff, vocalist extraordinaire, whose percussive instrument of choice is a cardboard box (but who can also rock almost any household object), and they round out the trio with a world-class bassist.These illustrious, yet humble artists vow that every performance is played from the heart and infused with a perfect balance of inspiration, emotion, wit and storytelling. The Wail celebrates 10 recordings in its 30+ years of existence and is currently kicking off its 4th decade releasing two new CDs simultaneously! Wilson’s huge, emotive vocals and Nosek’s blistering harmonica fuel their razor-sharp original songs and always incisive reinvention of obscure blues classics. Hanna Simone - Hanna Simone is a 25 year old American singer songwriter from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Influenced by Brandi Carlile, Jewel, and Adele, Hanna Started performing in Nashville as a solo artist at age 16. After relocation to Milwaukee, she put together a talented and close-knit band that compliments her style and originality. In a live setting, a driving passion is evident as her blues vocals blend with the high-energy rock edge provided by the musicianship and creativity of her band. Intricate lyrics, matched with her timbre, demonstrate her musical sensibilities as an independent artist. Hanna aims to persuade the audience to feel a real musical connection and intimacy with lyrical vulnerability and honesty.Ben Mulwana -ben Mulwana is a Ugandan-born and raised artist residing in Wisconsin. With songs about love, loss, and everything in between, Ben’s band project “Ben Mulwana and the Village” is made of a groovy, rock, and soulful sound from a group of amazing musicians.Charlee Grider - Charlee Grider is a singer/songwriter from Milwaukee, WI. Seating is first come first serve.&nbsp;Tickets are nonrefundable.John NémethAs a teenager in the early ‘90s growing up in the muddy potato fields of Idaho, John Németh was drawn to the hard-edged hip hop sounds and rock bands of the day, until a friend, Tom Moore, introduced him to the Junior Wells and Buddy Guy classic “Hoodoo Man Blues.” Together they formed Fat John &amp; the 3 Slims, which is still regarded as a legendary band in the Boise region. John played harp and sang in local bands, often opening the show for nationally touring blues acts and quickly caught the ear of established blues musicians. It didn’t take long before he was releasing his own recordings, “The Jack Of Harps” (2002) and “Come And Get It” (2004), featuring Junior Watson, and performing in Junior Watson’s band.

Tickets are nonrefundable.A lot has changed since Americana, acoustic folk artist Mike Mangione left his hometown of Chicago for L.A in pursuit of a music career.&nbsp; At the time, the most common musical advice one would hear was to get out and play often.&nbsp; So, after a year and a half of gigging around L.A, Mangione purchased a van and began a life on the road, sleeping at rest stops and averaging over 150 shows a year.&nbsp; It was at this time, playing as an unknown soloist, that Mangione discovered three key elements of his music: Sonic subtlety, use of silence as an instrument, and patience.&nbsp; Fast forward 18 years, two bands, 8 releases and hundreds of thousands of miles later and these three components continue to make up the foundational pillars of Mangione’s music today.&nbsp; Subtlety, silence, and patience combined with maturation and time has given birth to a woven lush complexity.&nbsp; But it is not only the beautiful ethereal soundscapes that make Mangione’s music so special.&nbsp; It is how he desires to use it.&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;“Songs utilize a broader palette through the power of imagery, poetry and mystery,” Mike Mangione, Americana and acoustic folk artist, argues, “to create a complete picture that is accessible to each individual from where they are at in their lives.”&nbsp; Each song is a form of communion between artist and audience.&nbsp;&nbsp;Mangione writes every song with that target in mind, as each song is a “dwelling place you can enter.”Mangione released his sixth full length studio record,&nbsp;Blood and Water, in March 2024.&nbsp;&nbsp;The album was produced by three-time Grammy winner, Larry Campbell.&nbsp;&nbsp;Mangione first became aware of Campbell when he was touring with Bob Dylan for seven years.&nbsp;&nbsp;Mangione continued his appreciation of Campbell’s work when he became musical director and collaborator for many years with Levon Helm, another of Mangione’s musical idols. Rap J's biggest goal is to give hope through music and prove that any dream is attainable with the right mindset!AmaraAmara Rappold is a student from the Milwaukee area who has pursued music since the 8th grade. Currently, she goes to school as a major in studio art, and works as a bartender in Wauwatosa. She is someone who has been heavily influenced by artists from the 70s through the 90s. Through music, she strives to spread mental heath awareness, and to overall spark joy to people of all ages. Some of her favorite inspirations include Jeff Buckley, Joni Mitchell, Ken Pomeroy, Neil Young and much more. Upon graduation from New College in Sarasota, Florida, with a thesis addressing rhythm &amp; blues varieties featuring a hearty emphasis on Louis Jordan and Buddy Johnson, Cebar dedicated himself to trodding the boards in earnest and spent substantial amounts of time testing the waters out New York way while exploring band dynamics with a soul and New Orleans-minded crew called the R&amp;B Cadets back home. The Cadets ranged about from 1980 to 1986 and featured the grand original tunes of John Sieger alongside the winning assortment of B sides and obscurities that were the fruits of Cebar’s research. Concurrently, he kept alive the spark of his solo work with a small group which came to be known as The Milwaukeeans. Throughout the early 80s, this combo featured Rip Tenor on tenor sax, Alan Anderson on upright bass, Robyn Pluer on vocals and Paul on acoustic guitar and vocals, and drew most of its repertoire from ’30s, ’40s and ’50s jazz and R&amp;B.

There are things to do—or not—people to see—or not—and the ones and zeros of technology to attend to. And then, suddenly, she’s off and dreaming, belly laughing with a distant friend or considering taking up “the work of birds.” When she comes back down to Earth, more often than not, she finds bliss in a comforting middle ground. “There aren’t enough hours in the day, I’ve counted,” Conway sings early in the record, before slyly adding, “For loving you.”Partner&nbsp;is Conway’s first full-length release since 2019’s&nbsp;Surrounded Middle. It’s wonderful to hear her luxuriate in the space afforded by these ten gorgeous and deliberately paced tracks. Details are blurry, it started in the prehistoric, pre-internet, pre-documenting-everything era. The thin days of shoegaze. When all the titans had gone away to have kids or get their degrees or whatever one does when they’ve gone out of fashion. Perhaps it could even be said that Brief Candles only got labeled as shoegaze back in those emo-laden times because they were the closest thing. Maybe because they showed up with pedal boards and delay on their vocals. It’s hard to say, that was many effect pedals ago, hundreds at least. One thing that can be said with certainty is that they’ve always sounded distinctly themselves. Yes, they love shoegaze and post punk. They would never disavow such a thing. There are though, tinges of kraut rock grooves, crunchy 90s indie rock, new wave and psych. All of those things a group of people love, crammed together in various combinations to make music that could be called original, or at least derivative in an honest way. Their new album, “Unfinished Nature”, continues that fine tradition - trying to find that special place the 4 of them exist in.

The evening will take place with 8 artists split into two rounds. Each round consists of every artist performing their songs in turn. They will share their stories and truth with the audience while shining light on the reality of life as a songwriter.&nbsp;The early influence of songwriting artists Brandi Carlile, Jewel, and Adele was significant for Hanna. &nbsp; Her craft was authentically inspired by such vulnerable storytellers and she knew Nashville was a place to explore her curiosities in music. She visited Nashville regularly starting when she was 16, moved to Nashville when she was 18, and spent two years gathering knowledge and creative motivation. When Hanna returned home to Wisconsin she realized that Milwaukee has many songwriters that deserve time to share their creations and Sips N’ Songs was born.&nbsp;We will end the evening with a special performance from ANDII. "Her powerful, transcendent voice draws from the traditions of American jazz and folk vocalists of the 50’s and 60’s, while her writing and performative style lean towards contemporary Pop &amp; Rock N’ Roll sensibilities. Helms &amp; The Virginia Creepers At the bottom of the Southwest Virginia foothills half-a-mile from the nearest neighbor, 21-year-old Colby T. Helms resides in an “underground house” built by his late father on land his family has owned for generations. Colby first dreamed of making music his life at age 12, when a group of Blue Ridge Mountain old-time and bluegrass players performed songs like The Ozark Mountain Daredevils’ “Standing On The Rock” and the gospel classic “A Beautiful Life” at his father’s funeral in Boones Mill, VA. To make his dream a reality, he taught himself guitar, banjo, and mandolin by watching local performers and YouTube videos. On the day he turned 16, he bought his first car, a stick-shift Jeep Wrangler, and hit the road to play anywhere people would have him. A veteran performer in the Blue Ridge/Appalachian Mountains region by age 18, Colby wrote the songs that would become his upcoming semi-autobiographical concept album, ‘Tales of Misfortune’, as a senior in high school. The album delves into the beginning of his story - starting off as a dream and ending with the passing and remembrance of his father. “Higher Ground” is about the choices he has made to realize his dream of becoming a touring musician - and their cost. “Mountain Brandy” brings the listener back to Colby’s home at the bottom of the Blue Ridge Mountains and sets the tone for the rest of the album. “Smoke and Flames” chronicles his experience as a fledgling musician, honing his craft and searching for validation while still in high school. Album closer "Daddy's Pocket Knife" cuts the deepest. A true story that also serves as a metaphor for Colby's own artistic journey, it reminds us that some things lost can be found. Colby T.
