Together since 2014, the pair create sample based compositions using a combination of self sourced field recordings and various pop culture/media. Releases include 2016’s Black Flame EP which is dedicated to the memory of Reyhana Jabbari, a 27 year old Iranian woman who was hung for allegedly killing someone who trying to rape her, and deals with various human rights violations in Iran. HIDE’s 2017 debut album Castration Anxiety on Dais Records addresses issues of power dynamics and representation. Seething with textured yet minimal tracks, HIDE gives raw vulnerability an opportunity to unfurl, yielding an album that calls for personal autonomy and the destruction of anything barring the way. A single on Sub-pop for the label’s singles club followed, with two unhinged tracks touching on the phenomenon of internalized misogyny and aspects of motherhood.

Her music inspiration first occurred at six years old when she heard the haunting piano melody in “My Immortal” by Evanescence during a five-hour plane ride as she played it repeatedly. She immediately begged her parents for piano lessons and her musical journey began, usually practicing at five in the morning before school each day much to her parents' dismay.Life changed when her family bought the game Rockband for Xbox. After mastering the drums to The Red Hot Chili Peppers’ "Dani California” on Expert Mode, Elise was determined to convince her parents that she now needed drum lessons. Honing her musical skills through The School of Rock and playing in her high school jazz band and the hard work of 10,000+ hours of practicing, Elise has built a massive fanbase through her self-produced YouTube videos, social media platforms and touring both as a solo looping artist and with her band. Together they create a rich body of sound piercing through the layers with the kind of personal details hidden in the timestamps and location codes of digitally-captured memories.Throughout their first two albums, the band has utilized a rotating lineup ranging from solo iterations to full band interpretations of their densely-layered album offerings. Cameron Kinghorn and DJ Stepmom (Joe Christensen) didn’t even set out to start a band. When Joe texted Cameron some jams whipped up on his tape machine, Cameron hit him back with, “What is this? I want in." Ten minutes before they first met up, Joe built the loop for their first single, ‘Sunshine,’ which they then wrote on the spot in a flurry of collective inspiration. Now the duo's collection of work has grown, amassing millions of streams, radio play, shows across the US, and a fan base growing rapidly.King Pari is much more than this serendipitous start though. The project is the culmination of Joe and Cameron’s years of hard work in the Minneapolis scene. Their musical talents afforded them opportunities few have experienced, from being invited to play shows at Prince’s Paisley Park by Prince himself to performing with Prince’s band New Power Generation. The two draw inspiration from the “no limits” nature of the Minneapolis sound, pushing it forward as they see it today.&nbsp;All of these moments culminate in King Pari and lay the groundwork for one of the most exciting new projects in music right now. With their debut project, “Mary”, out everywhere and official remixes on the way from the likes of Peanut Butter Wolf, Moonchild, and Ginger Root it is clear that the future for King Pari is extremely bright and only getting brighter.

She played clarinet, wrote songs on piano, later taught herself to play guitar in college, got obsessed with Shawn Colvin, was a vegetarian for 4 years, ended that with a hotdog and a swim in lake Michigan, started a band in Portland, OR with her friend Mark, named it Hummingfish, wrote a lot of fun songs that people danced to ‘til they were all sweaty in that hipster/grungy/geeky Northwest kind of way, moved back to the east coast 6 years and a divorce later and began playing solo in Boston coffee houses (read: 4 different Starbucks that she also poured espresso at) opened shows for Catie Curtis (a songwriter hero of hers) met up with Steve Tannen and formed The Weepies, played shows all over the country and the world, toured in a real tourbus! moved to LA, got married to Steve, made 5 records and 3 amazing boy-children together with him, had songs placed in loads of movies and tv shows, moved to Iowa, got breast cancer, got chemotherapy and relied heavily on marijuana for pain and nausea relief(Legalize, for gods’ sakes, can we grow up as a country, please?) recovered from breast cancer, made a solo album, struggled with mental health issues (Childhood Incest Survivor, lucky to be alive, music has helped, and so have many blessed healers) and relationship issues for 6 years, got divorced from Steve. She has a lot she could say these days. She prefers to listen. But playing songs for people is a close second. Music heals. Songs can be prayers. Deb Talan is some lovely damn proof of that.&nbsp;

It didn’t quite go that way.” Plagued by tumultuous lineup changes, workplace injuries, COVID lockdowns, and label issues, the Providence-based post-hardcore/skramz five-piece’s sophomore album took an arduous four year journey to get to its recent release. Though the road to bring Modern Grotesque to fruition was long and fraught with difficulties, the album itself is an instantly gripping and cathartic experience, and one that makes Dreamwell an emerging band well worth watching.Composed of McCullough (she/her), vocalist Keziah “KZ” Staska (he/she/they), guitarist Ryan Couitt (they/them), bassist Justin Soares (he/him), and drummer Anthony Montalbano (he/him), Dreamwell first came into form in 2016. “I had just moved to Boston,” McCullough says, “and hadn’t been in any bands in Boston yet.” She came across a post in a Facebook screamo group “looking for a guitarist for a band for fans of Touché Amoré, Pianos Become The Teeth, and Defeater,” and met with the four other members at the time (including the band’s initial vocalist Ramsay Young), who had formed Dreamwell after playing in post-hardcore and pop-punk bands with each other before. What resulted was their 2017 debut album The Distance Grows Fonder, a release written and recorded shortly after the band’s initial meeting. About CrowningThe term “screamo” used to be as much a derisive put-down as a genre name. But the Chicago band Crowning aren’t afraid of the world; they used to sell fake Supreme shirts with just that word across the chest. One of the members of Crowning is Lowell Shaffer, and he’s also the frontman of the great screamo trio Frail Body. Crowning have been putting out music since 2017, and they’ve already got a series of EPs and splits to their name. Over the weekend, the band released their full-length debut Survival/Sickness. It’s definitely a screamo album — a really good screamo album.Most of today’s screamo revivalists have harsh, intense takes on the genre, but Crowning are harsher and more intense than most. Survival/Sickness has moments of beauty, but the band mostly goes for frenzy. There’s a lot of metal and noise-rock in their sound, and they’re not too distant musically from peers like Portrayal Of Guilt. They also pack a lot of action in. The eight songs on Survival/Sickness whip by in 18 minutes, and they do a whole lot of damage in that time

The intimate and moody testimonial was cited as “Best Indie Rock Release of 2015” by Music Existence, also making its way onto several “top ten” lists that same year. By the time 2019 rolled around, it found Prall in a nostalgic headspace, leading to a reunion with friends and co-producers Pat Sansone (Wilco) and Joshua Shapera. The result is a stripped-back mix of reflective and pulsating tunes stamped into the 10-track sing-along Minus Thieves. The simplified effort was tracked at The Magic Barn, a rural studio outside the small town of Solon, Iowa. Its notoriety comes from housing the original recording equipment of New York’s now-defunct The Magic Shop. Iconic artists like David Bowie, Lou Reed, and Blondie have all made records at the renowned space, but it's within the Iowa incarnation that Sansone and Shapera reached even further into the archives of recording history. Applying a formula of straightforward guitars fused seamlessly with tight, no-frills rhythms, the minimal production of Minus Thieves impeccably highlights the core of Prall’s hook-laden songwriting. With the pandemic halting touring shortly after the release of Minus, Prall’s anxious to get back onto the stages he’s shared with such great artists as Wilco, Young the Giant, Blind Pilot, Allen Stone, and the late Justin Towns Earle. And equal to his songwriting, it’s never certain what Prall will offer up for a live performance, but it’s guaranteed to leave you with the reminder that music can make a beautiful lasting impression, and will continue to bring you back.

However, as often the case, life took many different paths before finally pointing her to Nashville. Now six years into a “ten year town,” Caroline has found her voice and is ready to share her debut EP project containing all self-penned songs. Named a semi-finalist in Tennessee Songwriters Week 2022, it is clear Caroline has put in the work needed to launch a successful career. With her next adventure on the horizon, Caroline embraces the time spent honing her craft. “I’ve been keeping this project close to my chest for so long that these songs are beginning to rattle inside of me like a cage.These songs are the real me.” ZACH STONE is a dynamic performer who makes an immediate and memorable first impression; the 27-year-old exudes a magnetic humility that casually and comfortably translates his charismatic personality. The Commercial Music graduate (Belmont University—alma mater to award-winning trendsetters Josh Turner, Trisha Yearwood and Brad Paisley) and TeamUSA all-star showed great promise to become a pro baseball player. He chose instead to lay down his glove and pursue the love of his life … music. Belmont’s “Best Of The Best” award winner signed a management deal with Jetpack Artist Ventures in 2015. Just twelve months later, Stone partnered with the management company and a group of A-list Nashville songwriters and musicians to record his six-song EP titled ASHES (produced by Rex Schnelle of Brooks &amp; Dunn and Trace Adkins fame). Stone has since recorded and released a series of singles and corresponding music videos including “One Last Night,” “Sorry &amp; Lonely,” and “Four Letter Word,” which received enthusiastic welcome and acclaim by country fans and the media. MusicRow Magazine recognized “the talented colt” for his studio performance with its DisCovery Award (March 2018) while the corresponding “Four Letter Word” music video premiered on Heartland-TV. The music video also enjoyed national airplay on more than 40 networks and shows including Great American Country, The Country Network, and “Sunday’s Kind of Country,” as well as various international markets. Zach debut single release to country radio, a two-Stone original penned alongside Will Stone (no relation) titled “Sorry &amp; Lonely,” landed in the Top 50 on the MusicRow Chart. The song explores the emotional roller-coaster ride in the wake of pain and heartbreak. Released in 2018, the recording highlights Zach’s first studio collaboration with Matt Billingslea, an innovative music creator and currently the driving force behind Taylor Swift as drummer on her worldwide “Reputation” Stadium Tour. The corresponding music video, innovative yet simplistic, embraces both contrasting colors and shadowed profiles to reflect the moving intimacy and silent conflict of two individuals – each on their respective journeys to reconnect in a desperate desire to “move on.” Stone’s career has continued to gain momentum, as his sultry, summer follow-up single, “Hands On,” bypassed the success of “Sorry &amp; Lonely” to become Stone’s first single to break into the MusicRow Top 40 Chart. With Billingslea again at the helm as producer, the subtly flirtacious track features rockin’ guitar solos and a “put-your-hands-together,” sing-along chorus. Another songwriting collaboration with Will Stone and Casey Cattie, the song reveals a playful infatuation spawned by chemistry and a freedom to explore an unmarked territory.
