Raised in Portland, Oregon, he has over 23 years of experience as a professional violinist, with formal classical training complemented by jazz fiddle studies at Berklee College of Music. Luke has contributed to various genres, including roots, folk, and country music, performing with artists such as Amigo the Devil, the Goddamn Gallows, and Lavender Country. He currently resides in Charleston, South Carolina, and plays fiddle for the Bridge City Sinners.

But as he enters his 25th year as a recording artist, it’s clear these are, at the least, very good days for Jurado on the creative front. In these 12 songs, which evoke half-recalled dreams and overheard conversations, the cosmic rushes headlong into the autobiographical and specific moments on the clock fade from past to future to scenes set only in the eternal now.Playing out like a backlot documentary filmed on the location of an unnamed TV or film set—maybe a sitcom taping, or perhaps it’s a low budget science fiction B-movie, or could it be a talk show?—the album is populated by performers awaiting call times, camera operators praying for their shot, and studio audiences rapt with anticipation. At the dawn of 2017 Devin Champlin brought a couple of his original songs to Dean Johnson with the invitation to sing in harmony together. That proved to be joyful, and they tapped Sam Gelband to join in with his sturdy baritone to be the middleman. Quickly this bore fruit, so they invited Charlie Meyer along for the ride with his lovely bass playing skills. At that, The Sons Of Rainier were born.Devin Champlin has been writing songs since he first picked up a hand-me-down guitar at the age of twelve. Through his teen years and early twenties he found his cultural home in DIY punk music and skateboarding. At some point in there he picked up his dad's banjo more often than not and spent over a decade learning, playing and performing different styles of traditional American folk music, mostly Acoustic Blues and Southern Fiddle Tunes. He toured the country numerous times with acts like The Gallus Brothers, and The Crow Quill Night Owls, collaborating occasionally with elders of the scene and even being inducted into the Jug Band Hall Of Fame (yes that exists). His personal songwriting was always percolating inn the background, making sporadic appearances at house shows and the like. With The Sons Of Rainier, Champlin found a loving home for many of these songs where they could be nurtured by the hands and voices of his compadres. The arrangements rest on the foundation of Devin's songwriting, and is brought forth with warm tube amps, Dean's unpredictable, weeping guitar lines, a loosely tuned snare, upright bass, and close three part harmonies. It is 45 rpm folk music that is sweet and haunting. It's a polaroid of a stolen slow dance.In 2018 the band released Down In Pancake Valley. Recorded live over two summer days in Bellingham, the album is filled with nostalgic lyrics brimming with longing, and understanding that float over a relaxed, lo-fi couch of sound. Based in Philadelphia, Blau has a legendarily broad résumé. He has worked on 250 albums during the last three decades, his experience ranging from Earth and Microphones to Laura Veirs and Matthew E. White. And his own catalog has forever been that of a polyglot, bending funk and folk and pop and punk into experimental forms with total glee. To call Vultures of Love the culmination of all that is to imply some stopping point, as if this is some destination Blau has now reached. But he moved to Philadelphia in part because he likes to be part of music that is going somewhere, that is seeking some frontier. Hillstomp is a 2-man band comprised of Henry Hill Kammerer and John Johnson. Henry plays guitar and banjo like a hurricane, and if you close your eyes you’d swear he’s playing 2 parts at once. John Johnson beats mercilessly on his drums, with the fury of a demon loose from hell. Once you get past the pure ferocity of his playing, you notice the parts are intricately crafted patterns that provide the framework for Kammerer’s guitar and banjo sorcery. The whole thing started as a love letter of sorts to North Mississippi blues played by the likes of RL Burnside and Junior Kimbrough. It first caught on in college towns like Eugene and Olympia, but soon bigger cities got it as well. The band stayed there for a few years and then started to morph - adding banjo and writing more and more of their own music. The fast and loud songs kept coming, but now they were interspersed with ballads and slow-burners to give the sweat-soaked dancers a chance to breathe. They have set out on national headlining tours, tore their way through Europe a few times, and opened for many of their heroes along the way. Hillstomp sounds like a boom box blasting from a shopping cart. Two madmen have strapped an engine to the cart and it’s too big and running too hot. They've got a banjo and a megaphone, a washboard and a kick drum. They've stocked the cart with guitars, buckets, car parts, and microphones and they are hurtling towards a blown out bridge while the bad front wheel flaps manically. The fools think they can jump the bridge and land safely on the other side. They are very wrong but no one has told them because...well, they just seem so happy. And there you are, bouncing alongside them and deep down you hope they make it. Duster is a reclusive experimental electronic slowcore(?) band consisting of two multi-instrumentalist members — Ewing Clay Parton and Canaan Dove Amber. Parton sometimes appears as "E. Parton," "C. Parton," or "Clay." Amber sometimes appears as "C. Amber," "D. Amber," or "Dove."The band formed when Parton and Amber started recording themselves on cassette four-track machines at home in the mid to late 1990s. Though primarily written and performed by John he can’t take all the credit having engaged the help of several friends to get this thing done. This being just their debut single, the song amassed over 1 millions streams on Spotify without a single editorial playlist. With their second single, “Around Around Around,” the duo continued to show they are paving their own way with a fusion of influences including shoegaze, classic rock, and grunge. A new trio to deliver a mix of free improvisation and punk, all of it wild-eyed and fierce as hell. Guitarist Joe Baiza (Saccharine Trust, Universal Congress Of) and bassist Mike Watt (Minutemen, fIREHOSE, Stooges) both need no introduction, but if you insist: they're defining figures of the 1980's California hardcore/post-punk scene and did as much as anyone to expand the music into something beyond categorization, pulling things in from all over the imaginary genre-map, including free jazz's improvisation and exploratory fervor. Drummer Chris Corsano (Rangda, Björk, Bill Orcutt) came up in a world heavily indebted to Baiza and Watt, fully embracing the ethos of "Punk is whatever we made it to be." He's brought that approach to free improvisation/experimental/etc. since he came on the scene in the late '90s. Flash forward to late 2023 when the trio first met out in the Mojave Desert. They cut an album for Yucca Alta records (due out in September), followed by a pair of SoCal shows. Now they're embarking on a West Coast tour. Or, as Watt puts it: "this is mike watt's reckoning of what this is: late last year drummer chris corsano was put w/me for a gig in the joshua tree desert parts (by derek monypeny) and his first suggest was to get joe baiza which I was way into. we did that gig: totally improvised instrumental music. we did it sitting down: chris sitting down, me and joe baiza are sitting down. for me, it's was a very interesting conversation to be involved in and I got big time fuckin excited.

PEELANDER-Z, the Japanese Action Comic Punk Band based in NYC, was originally formed in 1998 by Peelander-Yellow, Peelander-Red, and Peelander-Blue, after meeting in New York City (although they’ll tell you they’re all from the Z area on the planet Peelander). Peelander–Z has appeared at major music festivals including Bonnaroo and the Vans Warped Tour and has also been featured on TV programs such as VH1’s “Best Week Ever” and Comedy Central’s “Upright Citizens Brigade” among others. The band has also been covered by SPIN, Rolling Stone, Village Voice, NPR and The Onion among many others. At its live shows, Peelander–Z guarantees intense audience participation and a chance to exercise. Four wandering souls, possessed by music and the sounds of ancient spirits were plucked, one by one, from the crushing entropy of despair, and potted in the soil of deaths inevitability, protected by the canopy of abandoning all possible fucks, and planted at the confluence of poisoned and holy waters. Through this mystical union they’ve concocted a dark and eclectic mix of psyche-rock, surf-rock, doom and freak-punk. Their dice are roaring and ruinous, heavy as iron shackles. Every roll blares like thundering seraphim, and shines like the black granite gravestones. Good Luck Club - An Unapologetic Dance Party

Duff Thompson is a songwriter, musician, and producer whose music is a swampy blend of folk, pop, and garage rock. As a songwriter, he has a rare ability to distill emotional complexity into simple, sincere songs that instantly hit the listener on a visceral level. As a producer, he draws from influences that span across decades and genres, merging them into a cohesive and organic sound recognizable as his own.Thompson's latest work is a dark, alienated, and swaggering duology of albums titled Shadow People and Shadow People II. Created over two weeks of intensive recording during a Montreal heatwave in 2021, the Shadow People series comprise 19 total tracks split across two albums. Thompson rented out the studio space at Sud-Ouest Recording Service and produced and engineered the recordings himself, bringing along with him a 16-track reel-to-reel and songwriter/musicians Steph Green (drums, lap steel, pump organ, vocals) and Kyle Taylor (drums, piano, vocals) as his backing band and assistant engineers. Shadow People also features contributions from Mat Davidson (Twain) on strings, pedal steel, and bass clarinet. Whereas Thompson’s 2020 debut album, Haywire showcased his versatility and folk influences, Shadow People and Shadow People II are a more cohesive collection of songs that push his music further into the world of garage and indie rock. Shadow People was released October 27, 2023, to be followed by Shadow People II on June 21, 2024, out on Mashed Potato Records.Thompson started out playing music at a young age, forming and playing in bands until 2016, when he shifted focus to being a solo artist. In addition to his own project, he has spent many years recording, and performing as a backing musician for numerous other artists, as well as co-running the DIY label Mashed Potato Records. Psychoactive vibration makers located just outside the castle walls of Seattle Washington, brewing amorphous culminations of modern neo-psychedelia. These musical ideas are brought to fruition by the mystical mind of Sam Larson, the groovy nobody, and vary from record to record with stylistic identities.   Dabbling in the crossfires of many different sonic colors and textures, with earlier works reflecting the lower fidelity inception of the project. Ranging from weirdo renditions of irregular dark and shimmery mid 10s style psych-pop song’s, to saturated parallel universe takes on reimagined 60’s garage rock-esque ditties, acutely encompassing a continuous multi-song epic. This foundation fermented into the release of reworked extended jams, and set the pace for an inevitable plunge into more experimentations. With current musical incantations revolving around elements of dark existential surrealism, tastes of both jazz and funk sprinkled here and there, cultivating a rather unique yet equally familiar collection of experimental Psych melodies. They emerged in the Southern California neo-psychedelic scene with a sound reminiscent of early Santana and The Zombies, featuring Latin percussion, vocal harmonies, and flute/saxophone solos. Founded by Medina after moving from Compton, the band’s lineup solidified with Myles Wong and past member James Cooper, leading to extensive tours and festival performances. Their name reflects the diverse ethnic backgrounds of the members and their goal of achieving unity on and off stage. Porch Kiss is a lo-fi bedroom pop band from Longview, Washington, led by Erik. Characterized by warm lo-fi tape recordings and vintage keyboard tones, vhs ghost’s music channels 80s/90s nostalgia and macabre allure, using retro keyboards, heartfelt guitar riffs, and ethereal synth harmonies.
