Based out of Troy NY, Lily Lothrop’s voice is a unique, fluttery, and warm standout in today’s vocal landscape. This juxtaposed with her noisy, and jangle-pop influenced sound induces catharsis for all who have struggled to be heard. Enjoy music from the farthest throes of the jazz genre, from the classics you already love to originals you’ll fall in love with.<hr>Bronx-born bassist, composer, and jazz educator Tarik Shah, began his journey in music when he was granted his first bass as a gift from his mother at age twelve. By the age of fourteen, he was performing regularly, and by the age of sixteen, he had become the sole student of renowned jazz bassist Slam Stewart (1914–1987).&nbsp;Very early in his career as a bassist, Tarik became a sought-after sideman to some of the greatest artists in jazz. In 1984, at the age of 21, he joined Betty Carter's band and began touring internationally. After his return, he proceeded to perform and record with jazz luminaries such as Ahmad Jamal, Randy Weston, Abbey Lincoln, Rahn Burton, Barry Harris, Pharaoh Sanders, Vanessa Rubin, the World Saxophone Quartet, and Hamiet Bluiett, among many others. In 1992, he was invited to play with the Duke Ellington Orchestra for President Bill Clinton’s inaugural ball, alongside Red Rodney, Sir Roland Hanna, Harold Vick, and Dr. Lonnie Smith. &nbsp;Now residing in New York’s Capital region, Tarik continues to perform in New York City's finest jazz venues such as Mezzrow and Smalls, while continuing to mentor many young musicians in the Albany, New York music scene. Sweet Critters, the new album from Caleb Caudle was produced by Ben Tanner and John Paul White, recorded at Sun Drop Sound in Florence, AL, and mastered by Kim Rosen at Knack Mastering. The album features Allison Russell, Aoife OʼDonovan, John Paul White, and Caudleʼs own touring band. Just as the marbled salamanders emerge from under damp logs and leaves, the mushrooms—smooth, pearlescent ones and spongy morels—turn on like night lights glowing in the dark, and the long-horned beetles and regal moths begin buzzing. The fiddlehead ferns and trout lilies curl inward, a copperhead slowly swerves, and a fox steps into the moonlight looking for prey. It is here, in that restless middle of the night, under cover of darkness, where Caleb Caudle’s sixth studio LP Sweet Critters is nestled. Through sometimes shadowy arrangements that creep and lurk, Caudle continues to mine both the brightest and murkiest corners of his imagination, finding that purest of points where tenderness and grit collide, inspired by musical heroes like Buddy Miller and Guy Clark, and mentors like Elizabeth Cook and John Paul White. It was White who Caudle tapped to produce Sweet Critters, along with Ben Tanner, at the duo’s Florence, Alabama studio Sun Drop Sound. "I was very excited to work with Caleb on this record. There’s a reason why Ricky Skaggs pulled Eric and Leigh Gibson off the stage at the Ryman two decades ago and offered to produce their debut record. The same thing that led David Ferguson and GrammyAward winning producer and Black Keys frontman DanAuerbach to co-write and produce their 14th album “Mockingbird” (2018) and release it on his own label Easy Eye Sound alongside cultural icons such as HankWilliams Jr. and Dr. John: the Gibson Brothers are the real deal. They can pick . They can sing. And they can write a damn good country song. They’ve won about every bluegrass award you can name and released albums on almost every premierAmericana label you can think of including Sugar Hill and Rounder, and, if that’s not enough, their songs have been recorded by bluegrass legends no less than Del McCoury. It’s a resume almost anybody in country music would be proud to have. But despite all of this, The Gibson Brothers are not yet household names. Their latest album, “Darkest Hour,” produced by dobro master Jerry Douglas might just change that. As soon as you hear Leigh singing with Alison Krauss [“I Feel The Same Way As You”] on the new project you realize that his voice is as good as anyone in music today. Add the brother harmony to that and they have something truly unique. While “Mockingbird” featured gorgeous production, recreating the sound on stage was difficult. “We put together a little band to go out and try to recreate it,” Eric told me, but we couldn't. We would have to have such a huge band to try to recreate that record, but we did the best we could.” Douglas—who has won 14 Grammy awards and backed up everyone from Ray Charles to PaulSimon and George Jones—wanted to make a record they could actually play on the road. So he picked the best songs (out of dozens) and squirreled them away in Sound Emporium’s Studio B. But then the pandemic hit. “We did our last shows in March of 2020,” Eric told me. “We were in Nashville the week everything was shutting down. It was surreal, but Jerry was like, ‘Guys, the world's going crazy. Let's let this be our little cocoon.’And we did. We cut all of the acoustic stuff and then went home and didn't play any more gigs until things started opening. Then we went back and finished the record with Jerry in February of 2021.” The result is arguably the strongest record The Gibson Brothers have ever made.The songs recorded in the first recording period featured Mike Barber (bass), Justin Moses (mandolin),Eamon McGloughlin (fiddle), and of course, Jerry Douglas, adding in John Gardner (drums), Guthrie Trapp (electric guitar), andTodd Parks (bass) for the final tracks, “Darkest Hour”showcases just how easily Eric and Leigh move from what Dan Auerbach dubbed “country soul” (“I Go Driving”) to high octane bluegrass (“What a Difference A Day Makes” and “Dust”) with Douglas always keeping the spotlight on the songs themselves. “That’s what I love about those guys,” Douglas told me, “they are just great songwriters.” Growing up on a dairy farm in northern NewYork and then traveling around the world in a bluegrass band has given them a unique vantage point on life, and the songs on “Darkest Hour”are a testament to that. “Jerry wanted to hear everything we’d written,” Eric told me, “so we just sent him songs: brand new songs, old songs, there's stuff on that record 20 years old that we never recorded. We wanted to see what he would do with us as singer-songwriters. We respect him that much. Some of my favorite records are Jerry Douglas produced records. He didn’t disappoint.” If the Gibson Brothers had stayed in Nashville in 1999 they might possibly be Grand Ole Opry members by now. At the very least they would be hit songwriters on Music Row. But, just like their buddy Del McCoury, they chose family over success (McCoury was in his 50s when he moved to Nashville and didn't really see major success until he was approaching 60). All they need is someone to shine a light on them. Their talent level is well-established, the only producers they have ever worked with are Ricky Skaggs, Dan Auerbach, David Ferguson and Jerry Douglas. I dare say not many musicians can stack up a list of producers that strong. For the Gibson Brothers though, they just want to keep writing, singing, and standing on a stage.

Marty O'Reilly

Jacob Jolliff is one of the world’s premier contemporary mandolinists. He attended Berklee College of Music on a full scholarship and in 2012, he won the USA’s National Mandolin Championship. A fixture of the bluegrass community, he has collaborated and shared the stage with Bela Fleck, Tony Trishka and Michael Daves, to name a few. He’s also toured asa member of the groups Joy Kills Sorrow and Yonder Mountain String Band. His own ensemble, The Jacob Jolliff Band, is one of the most cutting-edge progressive bluegrass groups on the scene today. They’ve released three albums; the most recent of which, “Instrumentals, Vol. 2: Mandolin Mysteries,” dropped in May of this year. They play a combination of complex original instrumental music and trad tunes. The <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.aric.network">Adirondack Regional Immigration Collaborative, Inc. (ARIC)</a> is a non-profit corporation that brings&nbsp;together folks throughout northeastern New York State to welcome immigrants to and support them in our local communities. We are composed of health care and social service providers, educators, faith-based&nbsp;groups, businesses that employ immigrants, and other non-profit leaders, all of whom understand that as they settle among us, immigrants add measurably to our region’s vitality.&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;To help create smooth resettlement pathways&nbsp;for them, we are developing efforts in three major categories:&nbsp;<ol><li>We provide the means to share information among our collaborators on how best to welcome and to settle the immigrants who are arriving here. These efforts include celebrating our new neighbors and providing information on how to protect them.</li><li>We are developing a “strongbox” of resources that may be needed immediately as they arrive or subsequently in the near term until they can get on their own feet. These resources include information on best practices to integrate them into our communities and funding to help support them should there be urgent need to pay for legal support or housing.</li><li>Recognizing the value of the diversity and economic strength they bring to us, to say nothing of the joy we receive in knowing them as new neighbors, we are developing a voice of advocacy to grow the size and energy of immigrant allies.</li></ol>&nbsp;We welcome you to our community forum on immigration, Voices at the Table, an event developed by ARIC with generous support from the Glens Falls Foundation. ARIC’s work is also supported with a grant from the Common Roots Foundation.&nbsp; During the forum, we will share:<ul><li>Food and music from different parts of the world,</li><li>Stories of some of our new neighbors and some of the businesses that employ them,</li><li>Information about immigration law,</li><li>Information about the challenges both immigrants and businesses face in light of the new administration’s push to close our borders and effect mass deportation, and</li><li>The reasons we should do what we can to keep them integrated among us.</li></ul>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;

On the Final Friday of each month, The Park Presents: Comedy After Dark - showcasing a Headliner along with a feature act, a host, and a guest comedian to make up nearly 2 hours of entertainment.<hr>MEGHAN HANLEY, is a Brooklyn based, internationally touring stand-up comedian, who hasbeen featured in Forbes, and appeared on AXSTV’s “Gotham Comedy Live,” The MSG Network, DreamsTV, Fox’s “Laughs” and “Red Eye.” &nbsp;In 2023, her Dry Bar Comedy Special “Friends With Kids,” premiered on The App and her comedy album, “This Happy,” debuted at number 1 on the iTunes charts. In addition to hearing her album on Sirius Satellite Radio, you can also find “This Happy,” The Special, on Meghan’s YouTube Channel. Hanley’s quick wit and upbeat persona, have lead to her being featured in several Festivals, and two tours with Armed Forces Entertainment, providing laughter to our Troops overseas. She’s also a favorite for fundraisers, and corporate clients, including The NFL, Bank of America, The Girl Scouts, Intel and Samsung. Built in 1911, Park Theater served as the first movie theater in Glens Falls, becoming a gathering place for residents to watch silent films and vaudeville shows. After closing in 1935, Glens Falls Post Co. (former publishers of The Post-Star), purchased the theater in 1937 and converted it into a printing plant. In 2014, local developer Elizabeth Miller, president of Miller Industrial Manufacturing, purchased the property for restoration. Park Theater reopened in 2018 as a state-of-the-art performing and event space, with Doc’s Restaurant located downstairs. In 2022, Doc’s Restaurant closed its doors and the culinary team relocated across the street to Park &amp; Elm.&nbsp;&nbsp;Park Theater now operates as a fully functioning event space perfect for weddings, conferences, concerts and more. South Glens Falls High School's Award-winning Stage 42 Drama Club will be hosting their fifth annual Gala Fundraiser. The evening will include performances from this year's Hadestown: Teen Edition cast and technical crew members, with Stage 42 directors John Benware and Betsy Stambach-Fuller serving as collaborative pianists. Tyler Giroux is a piano and valve trombone player in Upstate New York.&nbsp; He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam and a Master’s Degree in Jazz Performance from the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami.&nbsp; He has performed and studied with many notable musicians, including John Daversa, Alan Ferber, Mitch Frohman, Sheila Jordan, Dante Luciani, Brian Lynch, Scott Robinson, Tony Succar, and Bret Zvacek.&nbsp; He finished 1st place in the 2014 International Tuba Euphonium Conference Rich Matteson Jazz Competition, and has performed at numerous festivals, including the Monterey Jazz Festival, Quebec Jazz Festival, and Albany Riverfront Jazz Festival. &nbsp;&nbsp;Currently, Tyler performs regularly around New York State’s Capital Region.&nbsp; He performs with his own groups, as well as the Giroux Brothers, Alex Torres and His Latin Orchestra, GNP, the Dylan Perrillo Orchestra, Bryan Brundige and the Piggly Wigglies, The Brass Machine, and several other local musicians.​In addition to his performing career, Tyler is an avid music educator.&nbsp; He is an experienced private instructor and clinician, topics including piano, trombone, jazz theory, and improvisation.Matt Niedbalski is a drummer known for bringing musicality and energy to the bandstand. Born and raised in New York’s Capital District, Matt was exposed to music at a very early age. While in high school he took private drum lessons with drummer/author Ted Mackenzie and participated in the Empire State Youth Orchestra as well as the Skidmore Summer Jazz Institute. The Music of Thelonious Monk

Ethan Setiawan &amp; Fine Ground is visually a bluegrass band, born of a yearning to return to bluegrass roots and imbued with original tunes and quality songwriting. Named “creative and virtuosic” by WBUR Boston, mandolinist Ethan Setiawan’s path has wended its way through traditional bluegrass, to Bach partitas, to free jazz. He has won both the National Mandolin Championship and the RockyGrass Mandolin Championship. In creating Fine Ground, Ethan called on some of his favorite musicians in the Northeastern bluegrass community: BB Bowness on banjo, Julian Pinelli on fiddle, Alex Rubin on guitar, and Brittany Karlson on bass. The band gets at the heart of bluegrass while simultaneously infusing it with their own disparate musical influences. <hr>Alan Epstein has been playing music since his college days in the early 1970’s, when his father bought him his first mandolin. Originally&nbsp;from Pittsburgh, Pa, and since 2008 living in Upstate NY, Alan worked on construction projects all his career, living in various parts of the country, but always finding time to play and teach bluegrass music on the side as a hobby. All of that changed in&nbsp;February of this year, when he played his first solo gig at The Rockhill Bakehouse here in Glens Falls, blending&nbsp;a mix of bluegrass vocals, with his mandolin playing and telling stories along the way. Kate McDonnell, singer-songwriter, plays her guitar upside down and backward (UDB) and sings with her whole being. She has performed solo at the Newport Folk Festival, on the Mountain Stage radio show, on WXPN’s World Café, and at the Kennedy Center. Her award-winning songwriting has been singled out for praise by the Village Voice, Sing Out!, the Boston Globe and Dirty Linen. Kate has two CDs on Waterbug Records, and one each on Appleseed Recordings and Brambus Records, and her fifth and sixth albums were self-produced on her label Dog-Eared Discs.Kate took a 15-year break, starting in 2006, to earn her master’s degree at Smith College in child therapy and worked as a school therapist for children in special education programs. But since the muse never stops haunting the artist, Kate decided to go back into the studio to record her fifth CD, Ballad of a Bad Girl which was recorded as a trio with luminaries Jerry Marotta and Tony Levin, an album which rose to #5 upon its release and #16 for the year of 2021 on the Folk DJ charts. Kate teamed up again with her songwriting partner Anne Lindley to present a fresh batch of soulful, fierce, and engaging new songs on her sixth album Trapeze, released in September of 2024, which also jumped to #5 upon its release.“Girl Blue” began in Albany during the recording process for the “I Am Not a Star” EP. Fate intervened here, and the first single “Fire Under Water” was plucked from obscurity and placed in the #7 slot on Spotify’s “New Music Friday” playlist. Suddenly this ‘brand new’ artist was sitting between Alicia Keys and Lady Gaga on perhaps the biggest discovery playlist of the moment. The song charted on Spotify’s Viral Charts in the US, UK, Canada and globally. It received 1 million streams in less than a month.The entire EP performed incredibly well and many opportunities arose for Girl Blue. Songwriter Showcase

Get an inside look into the historic Park Theater! Built in 1911, The Park Theater served as the first movie theater in Glens Falls, becoming a gathering place for residents to watch silent films and vaudeville shows. After closing in 1935, Glens Falls Post Co. (former publishers of The Post-Star), purchased the theater in 1937 and converted it into a printing plant. In 2014, local developer Elizabeth Miller, president of Miller Industrial Manufacturing, purchased the property for restoration. The Park Theater reopened in 2018 as a state-of-the-art performing and event space, with Doc’s Restaurant located downstairs. In 2022, Doc’s Restaurant closed its doors and the culinary team relocated across the street to Park &amp; Elm.&nbsp;&nbsp;The Park Theater now operates as a fully functioning event space perfect for weddings, conferences, concerts and more. Matt Niedbalski is back with his monthly Jazz Night featuring a rotating lineup of featured artists and favorite collaborators. Enjoy music from the farthest throes of the jazz genre, from the classics you already love to originals you’ll fall in love with.Keyboardist/Composer, Robert Lindquist was born and raised in Albany, New York. He has played piano since he was seven and started composing and improvising shortly thereafter. He attended SCCC and SUNY Potsdam for Music Education/Performance and recently Masters in Jazz Studies at The College of St. Rose. He is trained in both classical and jazz piano. His teachers have included Dan Dobek (Classical/Jazz), Mark Evans (Classical, SCCC), Eugenia Tsarov (Classical, Crane School of Music), Lee Shaw (Jazz Piano, College of St. Rose) and Brett Zvacek (Jazz Studies, Crane School of Music). Rob has appeared in performance with Chuck D'Aloia, Jeff Seigel, Dave Calarco, John Menegon, Scott Weinholdt, Harry Allen, Dick Oatts and Brett Zvacek.Rob has won several awards while playing at the "Notre Dame Collegiate Jazz Festival" in 1999 from Benny Green and Chuck Israels.He has performed professionally since he was fifteen in upstate NY and also in Boston, NYC, and N.J playing many styles including jazz, rock and classical music. He has played gigs with: the Dave Calarco "Jazz Conclave", "New Regime", "EW Quintet", "Lee Russo Group", "Mike Dimin Ensemble", " Keith Pray Group", "Brian Patneaude Quintet", "Cleen Street R&amp;B Band", "Soul System", "Melting Picassos" and "The Karen Lawrence Band". Little Saints are an original band born in Saratoga Springs, NY. The three-piece, genre-bending combo is made up of singer/songwriter Natalie Santini, guitarist Andy Arnold, and bassist Ian Dingman. I am putting on this event as a way to help raise funds for my next project, while doing it in a way that is more interesting than a regular crowdfunding platform. I thought what better way to do this, then to help local filmmakers show their work on the big screen, and give the community the opportunity to see just how many talented people there are in the area.There will be two blocks of films, (Drama &amp; Horror) with a Q&amp;A after each block hosted by another local artist!

Exploring the vast musical traditions of New Orleans and expanding their repertoire to look beyond NOLA jazz, the band includes traditional Caribbean tunes (it’s been said that New Orleans is the northernmost city in the Caribbean), as well as Meters funk, soul, and brass band / street beat music. There are a myriad of traditions that flow into New Orleans culture just as there are tributaries that feed the Mississippi, and the Po Boys are eager to explore what makes the music of New Orleans so damn special. You’ll hear the heavy influence of the New Orleans sound across the band and in the stories told by their original tunes. Despite the scope of its sound, the outfit is only seven people, and thrives on the interplay and group dynamics that bring this music to life.

On the Third Thursday of each month, join Matt Niedbalski and a rotating cast of talented, regional jazz musicians.The GNP Trio is:Tyler Giroux, pianoTyler Giroux is a valve trombone&nbsp;and piano player in Upstate New York.&nbsp;He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam and a Master’s Degree in Jazz Performance from the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami.&nbsp;He has performed and studied with many notable musicians, including John Daversa, Alan Ferber, Mitch Frohman, Dante Luciani, Brian Lynch, Scott Robinson, Tony Succar, and Bret Zvacek.&nbsp;He finished 1st place in the 2014 International Tuba Euphonium Conference Rich Matteson Jazz Competition, and has performed at numerous festivals, including the Monterey Jazz Festival and Albany Riverfront Jazz Festival.&nbsp;He recently performed with jazz artist and vocalist Sheila Jordan as part of the Quebec Jazz Festival.&nbsp;Currently, Tyler performs regularly around New York State’s Capital Region.&nbsp;He performs with his own groups, as well as the Giroux Brothers, Alex Torres and His Latin Orchestra, GNP, the Dylan Perrillo Orchestra, Bryan Brundige and the Piggly Wigglies, Mike Jenkins and the Fat Ties, and several other local musicians.​In addition to his performing career, Tyler is an avid music educator.&nbsp;He is an experienced private instructor and clinician, topics including trombone, euphonium, piano, jazz theory, and improvisation. HARVEST &amp; RUST returns to The Park Theater withNeil Young’s Greatest Hits. &nbsp;It’s hard to represent the wide-array of Neil Young’s influential material in one show, but that’s exactly what the band HARVEST &amp; RUST does.&nbsp;Based in Western Massachusetts, HARVEST &amp; RUST often augment their show with other well-known local musicians to reproduce every era of Neil Young’s music.&nbsp;Be it the chart-topping HARVEST material (including Old Man, Heart of Gold, etc.) to the electric explorations of RUST NEVER SLEEPS (Hey Hey My My, etc.), as well as songs from Neil’s time in Crosby Stills Nash &amp; Young and Buffalo Springfield, you’re in for a night of “complete Neil”.&nbsp;And, HARVEST &amp; RUST never the same set list twice, which is exactly how Mr. Young does it!&nbsp;

Harvest & Rust

Fellow Pynins is an Ashland, Oregon based award winning contemporary folk duo with a keen and bucolic sense of vocal harmony and song craft anchored in the balladry tradition. The duo consists of Dani Aubert (claw-hammer banjo, bouzouki) and solo artist Ian George (guitar, mandolin). They are songwriters, collectors, and interpreters. Since 2016 the duo has toured the US incessantly and has gathered significant traction in the UK/Ireland, gracing festivals such as Cambridge Folk Festival, Wilderness Festival, Omagh Bluegrass Festival, and selling out legs of their most recent UK/Ireland tour. In 2019 they were named by NPR’s Bob Boilen as one of the best Tiny Desk submissions and the same year won the Minnesota Bluegrass &amp; Old-Time duet competition. In 2020/2021 the duo relocated from Minneapolis, MN back to Oregon to build (learning every step of the way) two tiny houses on wheels for their family, which they now live in. On May 20, 2022 Fellow Pynins released their sophomore album Lady Mondegreen while officially showcasing at the 2022 Folk Alliance International Conference in Kansas City. Lady Mondegreen, recorded live over 10 days in December 2021 at their off-grid tiny house dwelling in the mountains of Oregon, is an ode to their love and reverence for traditional music. All songs on the album were learned person-to-person from various individuals they met whilst traveling with their two children over a 10 month song collecting trip through Europe/UK/Ireland in their transformed camper van “Big Blue.” The album showcases their “strong vocal harmonies” (- Smithsonian Folkways), instrumental prowess, and adventurous arrangements quintessential to the Fellow Pynins rustic sound. The duo’s sophomore album is being received with remarkably positive reviews. Songlines states “Lady Mondegreen is an exquisitely harmonised treasure trove of imaginatively reinterpreted, historically significant acoustic music” while Paul McGee of Lonesome Highway stated it as one of the best folk albums of the year. He moved to America to study Chemical Engineering before falling in love with standup comedy. In 2021, Shafi was named one of New York's Funniest Stand Up by the New York Comedy Festival. He has over 100K social media following and is a regular at the world renowned Comedy Cellar. In 2023, Shafi embarked on a nationwide tour, taking center stage at renowned clubs such as Zanies, The Riot, and Helium. Additionally, he headlined performances in international locales, captivating audiences in Canada, Paris, and London.

Thanks to their dedication, innovation and perseverance, the group has established itself as a benchmark for son jarocho, bringing innovation to traditional Mexican music.Caña Dulce y Caña Brava delivers a unique sound composed on top by the poetry and harmony of their voices, floating around the vibrations of the horse jaw, the mystical harmony of the harp and the strums of the jaranas, while the beat is foot-tapped on stage and flashy colors emanate from their dresses. The music virtuosity of its members are deeply rooted in the jarocho tradition, where all of them have learned directly from ancient masters and have developed and proven their skills both at national and international stages.Proudly representing their culture around the world since 2007, the group has been invited to perform in South, Central and North America, as well as Europe, Africa and Asia. They have also collaborated with well-known artists such as Lila Downs, Jorge Drexler and La Santa Cecilia, and are commonly invited to represent Mexico in Cultural Diplomatic missions, such as the World International Expo in Dubai 2022.Adriana Cao Romero and Raquel Palacios Vega started the group in 2007, motivated by their passion for music, their lifelong friendship, and their desire to create a son jarocho group with a feminine perspective. They took the name from a song by Patricio Hidalgo, “La Caña”, where it emphasizes the duality of the sugar cane, an asset commonly cultivated in the region of Veracruz, that offers the sweet of its taste, but the martyrdom of its harvest.The name “Caña Dulce y Caña Brava” (Sweet cane, brave cane), seemed befitting as it served as an anchor to their land of origin, filling them with memories of their childhood and even a bit of nostalgia.The son jarocho tradition is a story about migration that started in the region of Veracruz, the land where Spanish and African arrived to the American continent 500 years ago and eventually coexisted with the Native populations. The mix of these cultures provoque the rise of a new human expression, synthesized as son jarocho. The songs of this tradition, called “sones”, have been perpetuated throughout the years by oral transmission and are still alive thanks to dedicated musicians, dancers and poets.Caña Dulce y Caña Brava are now tradition-bearers with the mission of continuing the echo of sounds and sentiments that came together so long ago, adding their own sentiments and composing new verses to bring a contemporary - and feminine - perspective. Over the years, Damn The Torpedoes has evolved with more committed members and a deep understanding of the Tom Petty catalog. The current lineup has been in place for several years and demonstrates the unspoken chemistry that makes a great band. The signature riffs, harmonies and underlying parts of the music are all there - along with some fresh twists that are often inspired in the moment. The resulting performances have audiences smiling, singing, dancing and mourning the loss of this great artist. Rich Kubicz, who plays the role of Tom Petty in the show, has been playing guitar and singing since his early teens. By 2007, so many people had told him that he looked and&nbsp;sounded like Tom Petty that he decided to put together Damn The Torpedoes as a tribute to Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. His goal was to play all of the studio hits, with live versions and some deep cuts to create the illusion of a Tom Petty concert performance. This meant that each band member would need to duplicate the sounds as found on the records. Lee Boice&nbsp;(Mike Campbell... Lead Guitar) Lee Boice is a well established guitarist from the NY City music scene and has played all over America and Europe. Besides being known for his exciting live performances, Lee is also a music producer and writer and is at home in the studio as well as on stage. With experience in various styles of music including Funk, Rock, Blues, and World Music, Lee has mastered many guitar styles and techniques. Gary Castelluccio(Benmont Tench/Scott Thurston... Keyboards, Piano, Guitar, Harmonica, Backing Vocals) Gary has been involved with music and performing since the age of 13. He started with guitar and later learned to play keyboard and harmonica. Over the years, he has played in cover bands, original projects and studio sessions. His experience and versatility has helped him to become a consummate side man adding support and color to the bands he works with. Jon Provan(Ron Blair/Howie Epstein, Bass Guitar and backing vocals) Jon caught the music bug young, playing and singing in rock bands, a cappella groups, sax quartets, theatre pits, recording studios and more. He’s also laid down his bass groove for many Indie and original bands. When not on stage with DTT, Jon is the musical director at a theater, a solo artist and a theatrical performer. Ross Kantor(Stan Lynch/Steve Ferrone...Drums/Percussion and Backing Vocals) Ross is the quintessential percussionist and the driving force behind DTT's tight rhythm section. His versatility allows him to play with the finesse of Stan Lynch and the power of Steve Ferrone while also adding polished vocals to an already very melodic harmony section. When Ross isn't playing with DTT, he is an in-demand drummer for live events, indie bands and studio sessions.

On Thursday March 21 at 6:30 The Rochmon Record Club will converge to listen and learn about The Cars eponymous first album - “The Cars” at The Park Theater, 14 Park Street, Glens Falls. Doors open at 6:30, the show begins at 7 pm with a live audio &amp; video presentation by Chuck Vosganian aka “Rochmon”. The Cars were formed in Boston in 1976 and spent 2 years dialing in their sound, working on the Boston bar circuit, and recording self-produced demos. The Cars eponymous first album, produced by studio wunderkind Roy Thomas Baker, was released in June 1978, and changed the sound of music on the radio. “The Cars”, which itself could qualify as a greatest hits collection, is filled with quirky, genre defying, and defining songs that got suburbia pogoing and slam dancing! We’ll listen to all of “The Cars” including “Good Times Roll”, “My Best Friend’s Girl”, You’re All I Got Tonight”, “Just What I Needed” and 5 more. On the Third Thursday of each month, join Matt Niedbalski and a rotating cast of talented, regional jazz musicians. Eric Ciarmello, saxophoneEric was born and raised in Rotterdam, NY. He attended The College of Saint Rose where he received a Music Education degree with a minor in Jazz Studies. During that time, Eric performed with the Alex Torres Latin Orchestra and the Joey Thomas Big Band. Eric was also selected as a member of the Mid-Atlantic Collegiate Jazz Orchestra which is made up of the top collegiate musicians on the East Coast. The band was made up of students from New School, Manhattan School of Music, Berklee and many others. Upon graduation, Eric worked for Princess Cruise Lines as a Woodwind Specialist, performing with world class musicians throughout the South Pacific, South East Asia and Japan. When he returned to the states, he moved to New York City where he taught and performed for several years. Eric is now living back upstate and is the Elementary Band Director at Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk and teaches privately at Blue Sky Music Studios. In addition to his teaching, he can be seen all over the Albany area performing mainly with Ten Most Wanted, but also as a sideman in various groups and leading his own quartet and trio. Eric has been composing for many years. The group’s sound is a culmination of those many years and contains a wide array of influences. The Eric Ciarmello Quintet is made up of Eric Ciarmello, Adam Siegel on saxophone, Tyler Giroux on piano, Jason Emmond on bass and Matt Niedbalski on drums performing mostly original music with a mix of modern jazz tunes and standards. The group will be recording their debut album later this year!Matt Niedbalski, drums Matt Niedbalski is a drummer known for bringing musicality and energy to the bandstand. Born and raised in New York’s Capital District, Matt was exposed to music at a very early age. While in high school he took private drum lessons with drummer/author Ted Mackenzie and participated in the Empire State Youth Orchestra as well as the Skidmore Summer Jazz Institute. In 2022 the band is honored and thrilled to be performing these songs - and even newer ones - for live audiences.Dynamic range is a hallmark of any concert by The Mammals. Get an inside look into the historic Park Theater — now the premier entertainment venue in Glens Falls! Built in 1911, The Park Theater served as the first movie theater in Glens Falls, becoming a gathering place for residents to watch silent films and vaudeville shows. After closing in 1935, Glens Falls Post Co. (former publishers of The Post-Star), purchased the theater in 1937 and converted it into a printing plant. In 2014, local developer Elizabeth Miller, president of Miller Industrial Manufacturing, purchased the property for restoration. The Park Theater reopened in 2018 as a state-of-the-art performing and event space, with Doc’s Restaurant located downstairs. In 2022, Doc’s Restaurant closed its doors and the culinary team relocated across the street to Park &amp; Elm.&nbsp;The Park Theater now operates as a fully functioning event space perfect for weddings, conferences, concerts and more. On the Third Thursday of each month, join Matt Niedbalski and a rotating cast of talented, regional jazz musicians.Awan Rashad, saxophoneAwan was first handed a saxophone when he was nine years old and has spent almost everyday since then studying jazz and classical music, as well as music theory. After graduating from Christian Brothers Academy, he attended SUNY Schenectady County Community College for two years before transferring to, and graduating from SUNY Purchase in 2023, earning a bachelor’s in music. In his early years he was a member of the ESYO Wind Ensemble and Jazz Ensemble, as well as the NYSSMA All-State Jazz Band. More recently he has performed at many well-known jazz clubs in NYC such as Birdland, Dizzy’s, Smalls, Ornithology, Jazz Forum, and other smaller venues. He also regularly performs in the capital region with various bands. He started teaching private lessons during college, both online and in person, and has continued to do so for students of all ages and levels. He is a very passionate musician/teacher who makes it his mission to help his students improve without forgetting to fuel their creativity and love of the instrument. Matt Niedbalski, drums Matt Niedbalski is a drummer known for bringing musicality and energy to the bandstand. Born and raised in New York’s Capital District, Matt was exposed to music at a very early age. While in high school he took private drum lessons with drummer/author Ted Mackenzie and participated in the Empire State Youth Orchestra as well as the Skidmore Summer Jazz Institute. Before graduating high school Matt played with many local musicians, performing at the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall, the Final Stretch Music Festival and the Lake George Jazz Festival where he opened for Rudresh Manthappa and Bunky Green.

L'amour Provençal

Hiroya is a one-of-a-kind guitarist and composer. Born and raised in Kyoto, Japan and in 2000, he received a scholarship to Berklee College of Music and came to the US. Since then, he has been performing internationally including United Nations, Blue Note in New York Japanese National Television. Hiroya released six albums. Most recently, he won 2nd place in International Finger Style Guitar Championship in 2022.

One-of-a-kind composer, guitarist&nbsp;and singer-songwriter Hiroya Tsukamoto will demonstrate fingerstyle techniques (playing with the fingers in place of a pick), including chords and basic theory. In this&nbsp;workshop,&nbsp;Hiroya will cover how to practice on a daily basis to improve your skills. Fingerstyle Guitar Workshop 

On Wednesday January 31 Rochmon Record Club will converge at The Park Theater, 14 Park Street, Glens Falls, to listen to, and learn about, Jackson Browne’s fifth album, “Running On Empty”! Doors open at 6:30, the show begins at 7 pm with a live audio &amp; video presentation by Chuck Vosganian aka “Rochmon”. Jackson Browne and his band hit the ground running in 1972. Four years and four albums later “Running On Empty” captures life on the road; the family it had become, and the challenges it presented. Jackson Browne’s band, at the top of their skills, thrilled audiences all over the world and “Running On Empty” is a document of their travels across America. In many ways a concept album, songs include “Running On Empty”, “You Love the Thunder”, “Cocaine”, the pairing of “The Load Out” and Maurice William’s “Stay” and 5 more. “Running On Empty” is a testament to love and life on the road, a peek behind the curtain that we very rarely get. As is his way, Rochmon will have a few surprises in store! The Rochmon Record Club Listening Party begins at 7pm with a live audio &amp; video presentation by Chuck Vosganian aka “Rochmon”. Our ‘Live &amp; Local: Songwriters' Showcase’ is an intimate evening featuring some of the Capital Region’s favorite songwriters. Hosted by performer, producer and engineer, Josh Morris (Josh Morris Band, Girl Blue and more), these ‘artist-in-the-round’ performances will give audiences the opportunity to hear local musicians' songs and the stories behind them. This Month's Artists Include:<h2>Erin Harkes</h2>It’s hard to say exactly what Erin Harkes is. She’s a singer/songwriter. She’s a full time musician. She’s also a part time standup comedian. Whatever she is doing she is doing it on stage!&nbsp;&nbsp;Erin began writing her own songs at age 19 and has released four albums of original material since then. Her first CD was aptly titled “Bar Napkins and Magic Markers” due to the crude way the lyrics were jotted down during her college years.&nbsp;Her music comes from triumphs over tragedy. Though sometimes somber there’s always a resounding theme of resilience. The power of her voice and the emotion that comes through her lyrics make&nbsp;you want to sit and listen to every word.&nbsp; Erin’s lyrics tell stories of her life, sung through a big voice that’s often compared to Janis Joplin.&nbsp; Hearing Erin sing is a powerful experience that grabs anyone within earshot.&nbsp;Erin’s spontaneity and willingness to perform won her a spot on “Battle of the Instant Bands” on the Jimmy Fallon show in April of 2010.&nbsp; Having only 20 minutes to prepare with an impromptu band made up of complete strangers, Erin won over both Jimmy Fallon and the studio audience by naming the band (“Fallon Angels”) and the song (“Free Jimmy”) – the band performed the song with Erin on vocals to an explosive audience response and easily won the contest.&nbsp;After years of being told she was funny, on and off stage, in 2012 Erin decided to try her hand at standup comedy. Having found great comfort in front of an audience she was able to make this transition smoothly.&nbsp;In a very short amount of time she achieved much local success and has since performed nearly every major club in NYC and in Toronto and Montreal.&nbsp;She is also a regular feature at Funny Bone Comedy Clubs across the country.&nbsp;Erin is regularly voted Best Singer/Songwriter, Solo Musician and Comedian in the Capital Region by the Times Union Reader’s Poll, The Alt and the (sadly now defunct)&nbsp;Metroland.&nbsp; She has been the subject of several cover stories by both of those newspapers.&nbsp; She is definitely a local favorite. Erin has had the privilege to have shared the stage with national acts such as David Allen Coe, Leon Russell, Melissa Ferrick, Eric Burden and recently opened for one of her musical idols, Beth Hart. In comedy she has worked with Jeff Dye, Demetri Martin and In Living Color's Tommy Davidson.&nbsp;&nbsp;Erin likes to say that music is her spouse and comedy is her mistress. She tries to give them equal amounts of love and attention. Whether singing songs or telling jokes, Erin commands attention every time she steps foot on stage.&nbsp;&nbsp;<h2>Natalie Santini &amp; Andy Arnold (of Little Saints)</h2>Little Saints&nbsp; are an original band born in Saratoga Springs, NY. The three-piece, genre-bending combo is made up of singer/songwriter Natalie Santini, guitarist Andy Arnold, and bassist Ian Dingman. The band was founded by Natalie and Andy who- after having met in early 2019- decided to team up to work on melding Natalie’s devotion to powerfully agile singing, and honest, mature songwriting with Andy’s love for raw-yet-refined guitar playing. Little Saints draws on influences from artists like Brandi Carlile, Stevie Wonder, and the Tedeschi Trucks Band as well as peers around them in their musical environment to craft a style they can call their own somewhere between Americana, Indie-Folk, and Modern Soul.&nbsp;Little Saints leans on their collective 50 years of experience in an aim to deliver a genuine musical experience filled with harrowing lyrics and mature, refined instrumentation Fronting the group with a powerful voice and precise pen is Western NY native Natalie Santini. She began her musical career in her adolescence as a singer/guitarist, building momentum as she serenaded her way into SUNY Fredonia- an institution credited with a decorated music program to study… science. There, she cast a wide net into different musical ventures including singing in a capella groups, and learning the fundamentals of a variety of different instruments. Afterwards, life led Natalie into the backcountry of the Adirondack mountains where she was slinging chainsaws and would then go on to teach environmental education- where she would gain more and more inspiration to meld her performance abilities with honest songwriting. It is there where she met Little Saints’ guitarist, Andy Arnold.&nbsp; Andy is native to Glens Falls, New York and grew up surrounded by music. In his bedroom 9 months of the year, he fell asleep nightly to an Ozzy Osbourne CD. The other 3 months of the year, he spent many hours of most days bathing in the steel guitars, bright guitars, and weeping lyrics of the classic country records his grandparents always had on the stereo. Fast forward some years, and Andy spent most of his high school time experience blowing off homework to squeeze extra practice time out after school. It didn’t pay off in honor roll grades, but it did eventually pay off in the form of acceptance into the Berklee College of Music. Though he wasn’t able to attend, Andy found himself even more hungry than before to expand upon the skills that got him in and focus them towards creating his own voice on the instrument. All the while, five minutes away in the same town of Glens Falls, NY, Little Saints bassist Ian Dingman was busy doing the same.&nbsp;<h2>Matt Plummer (of Bendt)</h2>Matt Plummer is the lead singer and guitarist of the Albany based band Bendt. With lyrical grit, dynamic grooves, and atmospheric, yet driving melodies, Bendt has carved a distinctive sound into the face of modern rock. Formed in 2015, Bendt evolved out of the crucible of the Albany, New York music scene as a passion project between friends. Bandmates Matt Plummer (lead vocals/rhythm guitar), Carl Blackwood (lead guitar and drums), John Longo (bass), and Cody Bingham (drums) work to craft a unique presence, one that draws from their individual musicianship and shared love of hard rock, alternative, metal, and funk. As Bendt’s songs leap between soaring riffs and emotive screams, to unusual time signatures and bass-heavy flows, the band captures something that is universal while simultaneously personal and immediate. This power quartet has played a long string of shows, including winning a battle of the bands as well as opening for such bands as Smash Mouth and Spin Doctors. In December of 2018, they recorded eleven songs at Sonelab Studios in Western Massachusetts. Nine of those songs would end up on the final release of their first LP, Brightness in the Barrens which came out independently on February 29, 2020. It would be another year and two months after recording the album that they held their much celebrated Album Release Show on February, 29 2020- the same day as the album release. In that time, they filmed and released a music video for their first single off the album called “Symptoms,” filmed by Chromoscope Pictures, continued to play frequent gigs, and most importantly, continued to write song after song. The creative flow of ideas has yet to slow down. That's Bendt. Four friends, four musicians who when brought together, do indeed create something worth remembering. <h2>Josh Morris, host</h2>Josh occupies a musical space that defies genre and expectation. He was handed a pair of drumsticks at age 5 and since then, he has transformed into a titan of musical potential. At 25, he is now a multi-instrumental songwriter, producer, session musician, and touring musician. His music can uniquely be described as “Sounds For the Many”. There is something for everyone in his writing. Whether you’re looking for a vulnerable Singer/Songwriter with uncertainty about the future, a Hard Rock connoisseur, an Indie kid with DIY roots, or a Stevie Wonder enthusiast with an affinity for Funk and Soul, you can find it all here. Cold Chocolate is a genre-bending Americana band that fuses folk, funk, and bluegrass to create a unique sound all their own. Featuring Ethan Robbins on guitar/mandolin and Ariel Bernstein on drums/banjo, this power duo from Boston is impressing audiences throughout New England and beyond. Punctuated by tight harmonies and skillful musicianship, and with a focus on songwriting, Cold Chocolate has quickly gained recognition for their original music and high-energy shows. The band has shared bills with Leftover Salmon, David Grisman, Angelique Kidjo, and regularly performs at venues and music festivals across the country.

Rob Lindquist, pianoKeyboardist/Composer, Robert Lindquist was born and raised in Albany, New York. He has played piano since he was seven and started composing and improvising shortly thereafter. He attended SCCC and SUNY Potsdam for Music Education/Performance and recently Masters in Jazz Studies at The College of St. Rose. He is trained in both classical and jazz piano. His teachers have included Dan Dobek (Classical/Jazz), Mark Evans (Classical, SCCC), Eugenia Tsarov (Classical, Crane School of Music), Lee Shaw (Jazz Piano, College of St. Rose) and Brett Zvacek (Jazz Studies, Crane School of Music). Rob has appeared in performance with Chuck D'Aloia, Jeff Seigel, Dave Calarco, John Menegon, Scott Weinholdt, Harry Allen, Dick Oatts and Brett Zvacek. Rob has won several awards while playing at the "Notre Dame Collegiate Jazz Festival" in 1999 from Benny Green and Chuck Israels.He has performed professionally since he was fifteen in upstate NY and also in Boston, NYC, and N.J playing many styles including jazz, rock and classical music. He has played gigs with: the Dave Calarco "Jazz Conclave", "New Regime", "EW Quintet", "Lee Russo Group", "Mike Dimin Ensemble", " Keith Pray Group", "Brian Patneaude Quintet", "Cleen Street R&amp;B Band", "Soul System", "Melting Picassos" and "The Karen Lawrence Band". He has also free-lanced with many other groups in the area. Rob has taught privately for ten years and is currently a Band Director in the Albany City School District. Jason Emmond, bass Jason Emmond is an upright and electric bass player and composer residing in upstate New York. After growing up in New Hampshire and obtaining his bachelor’s degree from the University of New Hampshire,Jason made the move to Kansas City to play jazz. Recently, he relocated to Albany, NY, where he is continuing his music career.Jason keeps busy playing with a variety of talented musicians from New York City, Kansas City, upstate New York, and beyond. You can find him playing often with artist Eddie Moore and his band, We the People, who have backed up notable artists such as Andre Hayward, Chantae Cann and Andrew Bailie.With more exciting shows on the horizon and his first original album in the works, expect to hear more from Jason in the coming months. Before graduating high school Matt played with many local musicians, performing at the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall, the Final Stretch Music Festival and the Lake George Jazz Festival where he opened for Rudresh Manthappa and Bunky Green. <a href="https://www.mattniedbalski.com/" target="_blank">Website</a> Nate Giroux, saxophone Tyler Giroux, piano/trombone Tyler Giroux is a valve trombone&nbsp;and piano player in Upstate New York.&nbsp;He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam and a Master’s Degree in Jazz Performance from the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami.&nbsp;He has performed and studied with many notable musicians, including John Daversa, Alan Ferber, Mitch Frohman, Sheila Jordan, Dante Luciani, Brian Lynch, Scott Robinson, Tony Succar, and Bret Zvacek.&nbsp;He finished 1st place in the 2014 International Tuba Euphonium Conference Rich Matteson Jazz Competition, and has performed at numerous festivals, including the Monterey Jazz Festival, Quebec Jazz Festival, and Albany Riverfront Jazz Festival.&nbsp;&nbsp;Currently, Tyler performs regularly around New York State’s Capital Region.&nbsp;He performs with his own groups, as well as the Giroux Brothers, Alex Torres and His Latin Orchestra, GNP, the Dylan Perrillo Orchestra, Bryan Brundige and the Piggly Wigglies, The Brass Machine, and several other local musicians.​In addition to his performing career, Tyler is an avid music educator.&nbsp;He is an experienced private instructor and clinician, topics including piano, trombone, jazz theory, and improvisation. <a href="https://www.tylergiroux.com/" target="_blank">Website</a> Steven Kirsty, bass Born in Schenectady, NY; residing in Jersey City, NJ, Steven was born into a family of musicians &amp; music teachers.
