Jann Klose is an award-winning pop singer-songwriter, who has released seven albums and two EPs. Klose was raised in Kenya, South Africa, Germany and the United States. Singles from his most recent album Surrender (2023) have accumulated over 5 million streams across all platforms and charted on Top 40 radio in both the US and South Africa.&nbsp;Jann served as the singing voice of Tim Buckley in the 2012 film Greetings from Tim Buckley. A cult figure in the music business, Jim Keller’s&nbsp;gigs in New York and Nashville are legendary. If the best players in town aren’t on stage with him, they are in the audience, singing along, playing along, making the sort of noise that would get you locked up in a lesser town. &nbsp;From the outset of her career, Janita has commanded attention. As a multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, and songwriter, she has uniquely defied convention yet repeatedly enjoyed mainstream success. Her tenth studio album, Mad Equation, is out May 16th 2025 on ECR Music Group, preceded by a special three-concert run at New York City’s The Bitter End. He assembled his Absolute Monster Gentlemen (his acclaimed all-star big band) in his home studio in the Bywater neighborhood of New Orleans, drew up a setlist of some of his most beloved songs– and some new favorites– and rolled tape.“We set out to capture that sound in the old-fashioned way: everybody in the room, playing together,” Cleary explains.The result is The Bywater Sessions, a musical tour-de-force that showcases the grit, funk and joy that’s packed concert halls from New Orleans to Tokyo and beyond. Co-produced by Cleary and John Porter (Roxy Music, The Smiths, Taj Mahal), it’s a stunning collection of performances that affirms Cleary’s place in the New Orleans musical vanguard.“There’s a lot to be said for the ‘lean and mean’ sound of a piano trio, stripped down to basics, simple and direct,” Cleary says. “But recently, I’ve been experimenting with different combinations; adding horns, guitar, percussion and even another keyboard player. This expanded line-up has allowed the arrangements to blossom in new directions.”As for the musicians, it’s the best of the best. Long time Monster Gentlemen Cornell Williams and A.J. Hall anchor the band on bass and drums, respectively. The roots go deep, but each generation, growing up with street parades and second-lines, absorbs the old and introduces the new, gently coaxing the essential essence into and out of each succeeding decade.”It’s an apt description of Cleary’s career thus far. Born in London and on a plane to New Orleans before he turned twenty years old, he grew up absorbed by the sounds and rhythms of the Crescent City. His mastery of the city’s music landed him gigs playing as a session musician in the bands of local legends Earl King, Johnny Adams, Walter ‘Wolfman’ Washington, Snooks Eaglin, Ernie K-Doe, Jessie Hill– and as a guitarist for Dr. John. He later toured extensively with icons like Bonnie Raitt and Taj Mahal. His solo career began in earnest in 1989 and includes beloved records like their self-titled band debut and his 2015 Grammy winner, Go-Go Juice.&nbsp;In fact, his first job in New Orleans was as a painter at beloved local club the Maple Leaf Bar, and it wasn’t long until he was playing piano in that very room. To this day, he and his band continue to pack that room to crowds that gather from around the world, playing their unique and ever-evolving take on New Orleans funk and R&amp;B.“These grooves are not museum pieces, they are alive, breathing and fresh - and that’s why joints like Tipitina’s, The Maple Leaf Bar and Chickie Wah Wah are always packed when the locals, young and old, come out to hear the Gentlemen do they thang,” Cleary proudly adds.On The Bywater Sessions, the band that Rolling Stone’s David Fricke called “as broad, deep and rolling as the Mississippi river” is finally captured as intended– live, in the room and as funky as ever. THE BONGOS, founders of the Hoboken music scene of the 1980s, return to the stage with all original members — Richard Barone, James Mastro, Rob Norris, and Frank Giannini — to celebrate their new album release, ’The Shroud of Touring: Live in 1985,’ on JEM Records. Originally recorded on the Jersey Shore during the steamy Memorial Day weekend of 1985, the album has remained unreleased until now, the 40th anniversary of the performance, and captures the band’s legendary energy at the peak of its power.With their unique, highly percussive musical style, the Bongos were college radio favorites and made the leap to national recognition with the advent of MTV. Their breakthrough song “Numbers with Wings” garnered the group a major cult following and a nomination at the first MTV Video Music Awards. Along with a handful of others, the Bongos were instrumental in the advancement of the alternative rock movement. We are Stargazer Lily - born at the end of the last millennium, when bars were still smoky and music streaming hadn’t yet imploded the music industry. After a brief affair with Arista Records, we self-released four albums over a six year span, touring extensively and building up a dedicated fan base. We called it quits in 2005 with a sold-out CD release - wisely before the rigors of life as an independent band could tear us forever apart. In the years since the split, we’ve lived on three continents, experiencing profound love, loss, and growth. Our musical and personal bond has endured over that time and we return now clear-eyed, with a single focus to create music that will evoke and provoke. Kunes Clark Band is singer/ songwriter Jimmy Kunes (Cactus, Savoy Brown, Humble Pie, Flood The Engine) and guitarist/songwriter Angus Clark (Cher, Joe Lynn Turner, Trans-Siberian Orchestra). The two musicians have known each other for nearly two decades and have performed together in numerous projects in and around New York City. Now both residents of Essex County, New Jersey, they decided to take care of some unfinished business and make an album of material, some brand new, and some based on material they demoed 14 years ago. The result is a mix of classic heavy rock and blues that is sure to please fans of Led Zeppelin, the Black Crowes, and Rival Sons. As such they’ve never been the hot item in the flavor-of-the-year club yet they’ve also never gone out of style.&nbsp;Though the “front line” of guitarist Scott Murawski, keyboardist Mark Mercier and bassist John Rider has remained intact since the mid-70s, the current drums and percussion team of Bill Carbone and Jamemurrell Stanley weren’t even born when Max Creek was founded.
