Based in Seattle, WA, Moving In Slow is the musical project of Laurent Chavannes. Inspired by the confusing world around him, Laurent uses his music to make sense of what he experiences. Picking up the guitar at 11 years old started the journey to writing songs about love, loss, anxiety, happiness, and everything else that anyone can relate to. 2017 marks the beginning of Laurent independently releasing music on Soundcloud and playing shows around his hometown. After playing with many musical acts through the years, Laurent learned about production and began to view music in a new light, leading to a more refined sound taking influence from everything. Since relocating to Seattle in 2023, Moving in Slow has played shows at legendary venues such as Barboza, Vera Project, and High Dive. Moving in Slow’s high-energy set engages audiences and offers catharsis with uplifting music and relatable lyrical themes.
