Wake me up when September… begins?! That’s right, we’ve got a killer show coming to the Aslan Depot September 3rd with Jamie Shriner headlining! Plus Courtney Byrd hosting and longtime favorite Vanessa Dawn up to feature.
Jamie Shriner is a comedian based in Chicago, IL. A former theatre kid, current queer, deaf, & mentally ill gig-worker, Jamie uses humorous original songs to discuss her hearing loss and mental illness, as well as her struggles with body image, womanhood, and being queer in conservative Indiana where she grew up.
Jamie was named Best of the Fest at Big Pine Comedy Festival and is a regular feature at Zanies and Laugh Factory Chicago. The host and producer of Chicago Underground Comedy has opened for the likes of Beth Stelling, Randy Feltface, and Chrissy Chlapecka, and is a former Features Contributor for The Onion.
Vanessa Dawn is a comedian from Tulsa, Oklahoma now living in the Pacific Northwest. Her relaxed comedy style sneaks up on you like an unmarked car at a DUI check point. She has performed in the Big Pine Comedy Festival, Seattle International Comedy Competition, Blue Whale Comedy Festival, NW Women's Comedy Festival, NW Black Comedy Festival, Black Girl Giggles Comedy Festival, and performs at clubs, theaters, and casinos throughout the West Coast.
Courtney Byrd is a PNW native who moved to Seattle to pursue big dreams of walking dogs. She has since made a name for herself in both the K-9 and comedy communities. Courtney was part of Portland’s Rip City Comedy Fest and has opened for Katherine Blanford, Amy Miller, Sam Tallent, and Dwayne Perkins to name a few. She’s the co-host of the Pretty/Dumb Podcast and is the producer of Lady Bits, a monthly all-female comedy show.
